How Do I Get Rid of Freckles?

Posted 05/08/2005

To get rid of freckles, or at least lighten them up a bit, try using
  1. Glycolic Acid and continue using sun protection. Otherwise, the freckles more than likely will come right back.

If this approach doesn't work, try one of the following treatments.
  1. An at-home preparation that has an active lightening ingredient such as hydroquinone.
  2. Supplement the lightening treatment with products from the Vitamin A family.
  3. You can also use kojic acid, at home or as part of an office visit, which is derived from a natural substance and is popular in the Far East for its bleaching capabilities, or Azelex cream, which has pigment-correcting properties.
  4. Note: Acute Derm uses the hydroquinone and kojic acid in the Pro-C Skin Lightener Creme.

To maximize benefits from any of these products, apply in the morning and leave on the whole day and night, or apply in the evening and leave on until morning.
